Pub-Style Cheddar Burger With Bacon

About the Recipe

Anything on a pretzel bun is a huge hit! Eat Local's Award Winning Mild Cheddar, takes it out of the park! It's the perfect sandwich for grilling at home. Juicy all-beef patty layered with crispy egg, caramelized beer onions, thick-cut bacon and fresh tomatoes sitting atop a soft pretzel bun.

Pair with a cold lager and thick cut fries or a side salad.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 tablespoon of butter

  • 1 teaspoon

  • 1/2 cup sliced onions

  • 2 tablespoons beer

  • 1 lb ground beef

  • salt and pepper to taste

  • 4 oz Eat Local Mild Cheddar, sliced.

  • 8 slices cooked bacon

  • 4 slices tomatoes

Mayo-Mustard Sauce

  • 6 tablespoons mayonnaise

  • 3 tablespoons yellow mustard

  • 3 pickles, chopped into small pieces

Preparation

Step 1


Combine mayonnaise, yellow mustard and chopped pickle, set aside.


Step 2


Add butter, brown sugar, and beer into medium skillet on medium heat. Add sliced onions and sauté until caramelized. Remove from pan and set aside.


Step 3


Divide the ground beef into 4 portions and shape to thin patties. Season with salt and pepper.


Step 4


Heat grill pan over high heat and brush with oil. Place burgers in pan. Cook for 90 seconds or until juices release on top of patties, then flip. Cook until done, about 1 minute.


Step 5


While grilling, fry the egg in medium skillet until crispy around the edges, do not flip. Set aside.


Step 6


Place a slice of cheese on each patty and cover the pan with a lid. Cook for another 20-30 seconds. Remove the patties from the pan.


Step 7


Assemble the burgers - bun, sauce, tomato, burger patty with cheese, bacon, caramelized onions, egg and bun. Serve and enjoy!
